December Meditation, 2020

Summer arrives in the southern hemisphere as winter arrives in the north. Forever is all of creation held in a dynamic, ever shifting tension of opposites: day and night, high and low, love and hate, life and death. Perhaps as these last twelve months have unfolded across our precious planet this truth has never been more apparent. And in the midst of it all there is a kind of innocence and beauty seen in the small miracles of every day which can lift the human spirit and remind us of our place in the larger order of things. If you can still your mind and calm your heart, these small miracles can find their way to you as this special photo of Barbara with a fawn and this beautiful quote from Yeats remind us:

“We can make our minds so like still water

that beings gather about us

to see their own images

and so live for a moment with a clearer,

perhaps even with a fiercer life

because of our silence.”

- William Butler Yeats

With grace and blessings to you all,

Peri and Barbara
